Ok, so I've recently been planning to start culinary school this fall at the local community college. I like to cook and I think it'd be sweet to get paid to do it. Now I may have to rethink my plans after reading about this: http://www.gibill.va.gov/S22/S22%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf
If I read this correctly, and I may not, I can get pretty much everything paid for, plus a housing allowance if I wait until August of next year. Hot shit.

Whatever you do, do not see "The Happening" or at bare minimum do not pay full price to see it. My lord is it bad, just everything about it is bad. The acting is bad, the plot (what there is of a plot) is bad, the pacing, the editing all bad. Unless this was M. Night Shamalamadingdongs first attempt at a comedy it fails on every level.
The fault I usually find with Mr. M. Night's movies is that they have a great buildup to a dissapointing payoff. Well he succeeded in avoiding that pitfall this time by having no buildup and no payoff. Unless you count a heavy-handed environmental message as a payoff. The only way I managed to survive the situation with my sanity intact was to fall back on my extensive MST3K training and riff like there was no tomorrow.
Take it from me, a man who often watches bad movies just to make fun of them, avoid "The Happening" at all reasonable costs.

This will be an actual post, like with me typing my own words and everything.
I am absolutely in love...with the Flobots. I acquired a copy of their album "Fighting with Tools" from one of my shadowy sources and I have to say it is freaking awesome. I'm sure you've heard "Handlebars" on the radio yah? Well that song is like the sixth best one on the album.
I mean it's a freaking hip hop group with a trumpet player and a Violist! How could that not be awesome?
I like it so much I'm going to go out on Tuesday and buy a legit copy...that's right, I like it enough to pay for it.
The best part is that it's not just pretty music, it's got a good message as well.
Ok, I think that's enough semi-coherent rambling for now. To summarize: Flobots gooooood [handmotion]

Handwriting analysis thing. Fairly interesting.
David uses judgment to make decisions. He is ruled by his head, not his heart. He is a cool, collected person who is usually unexpressive emotionally. Some may see him as unemotional. He does have emotions but has no need to express them. He is withdrawn into himself and enjoys being alone. ( Read more... )
That last bit is really funny.

So I've been working a script to apply for a job at Bioware. I've pretty much got it written but I want some people to read it and tell me what they think before my lovely wife turns it into a NwN module. So here it is in all it's confusing glory. Keep in mind it's written in branching conversation paths, so it sort of makes for a difficult read. That being said I'd appreciate any constructive criticism.
Cut for extreme longness. ( Read more... )

I love the stench on my clothes after a concert. It's a combo of beer, cigarettes and sweat. It's good stuff. I finally saw Dropkick Murphys in concert last night...well "saw" might not be the right word for it. Before I had a chance to take my glasses off myself I took a shot in the back and they went flying off my face. After the show I recovered something that may have at one point been my precious vision enablers, but they were too mangled to be saved.
Anyway, Dropkick Murphys was pretty sweet. Though it did reconfirm for me that I like their older stuff a lot more than the new. I was vaugely dissapointed that they didn't do the TNT break in the middle of Skinhead on the MBTA. Oh well, maybe they don't do that anymore.
The opening acts were The Deadly Sins, The Briggs, and The Aggrolites. The Deadly Sins sounded to me like a punk band fronted by Pat Benatar, they weren't bad just nothing special in my opinion. The Briggs were pretty sweet, kind of piratey which is cool. I really really liked the Aggrolites, they called their music dirty reggae but if you ask me it was 3rd wave ska without a horn section, but I dug it whatever it was.
Apparently there are still people who don't know this rule so I'll restate it here. Do not wear the T-shirt of the band you're going to see, you look like a dick. The only thing worse than this is to BUY the shirt at the concert and then put it on over the shirt you already wore, once again, a dick.
The following people are also dicks: Guys who take their delicate girlfriends to the front of a DKM show and then act all angry when a pit explodes around them and endangers their precious flowers. Guys who try to crowd surf during the between band recorded music. Anyone over 200 lbs who tries to crowd surf ever. Guys who forget to take their glasses off and have to spend the rest of the evening blind. Men with feathered hair that would put David Cassidy to shame. I'm sure there are others but they're not coming to me.

Don't Fuck With Me Seme Take Are you a Seme or an Uke? today! Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.</p>Serious and to the point, and sometimes bordering on the sadistic, it takes a special breed of uke to satisfy your needs. You tend to be anti-social with little patience for most people. You need someone to challenge you and push you to your limits, and then be able to take the punishment you dish out, which frequently involves rope and alchohol. This is what makes the Badass Uke the yin for your yang, as you're the only one able to put them in line and satisfy each other.

| What Divinity do you worship? Your Result: You worship DEATH Death was brought into being in order that combat should serve a purpose besides wanton destruction. The loss of life created within battle, a certain expediency and desire to end the combat, as well as making it far more potent. The first of these Divinities was unable to take away life from those that would otherwise die. The reality of death meant that those in war would suffer grievous wounds, but unless Death finished the job, so to speak, they would merely suffer on in horror. The first Death finally committed suicide with her Brother, Life. The second Divinity known as Death was given a toll by which to harvest life, and a compassion for all those in suffering. As such he has done a much more effective job. Death appears as smoke dark and cold in appearance, and hanging unnaturally in the air.
The believers of Death hold that life is a great thing, to be savored and enjoyed, and that death is the final reprieve. They are amongst the most stable, compassionate, and loyal believers one may encounter. They are generally non-combatants, but they will acted aggressively and overwhelmingly when defending the helpless. Whether or not they restrict this to just their beloved or to any helpless varies from believer to believer. They have often sustained the loss of many loved ones, but never overtly traumatic. There is a saying amongst the followers of Life that a believer of Death is merely a naivë follower of Life. Death is Aligned with the Halls of Order. | | You worship KNOWLEDGE | | | You worship FATE | | | You worship WAR | | | You worship CRUELTY | | | You worship LIFE | | | You worship KINDNESS | | | You worship INSPIRATION | | What Divinity do you worship?
